On our way to a carbon neutral salon

At Tonics we are passionate about the environment and the world we live in.

We know that the hair and beauty industry is a luxury and so we want to make sure that we are doing everything that we can to reduce our impact on the environment.

Working alongside Green Salon Collective allows us to recycle all of the waste that the salon produces.

All of the energy that is used within the salon is 100% renewable produced by wind, solar and hydro power.

Being a member of Eco Offset means that we are on our way to becoming a carbon neutral salon!

Our funding goes toward solar, wind and hydro power, reducing our reliance on fossil fuels. Providing clean energy, efficient cooking stoves and clean water to community projects in the developing world reducing the need to burn fossil fuels and improve the health of whole communities. Protecting, maintaining and reforesting forests to maximise carbon sequestration and protect local biodiversity.

Offsetting is a great way to compensate for our emissions by funding an equivalent CO2 saving elsewhere. However we will always be on the lookout to reduce our emissions and waste wherever we can on our journey to a more sustainable lifestyle and healthier planet!

Scrummi Towels

We have switched from cotton hairdressing towels to Scrummi and heres why….

The energy used in the entire lifecycle of a Scrummi disposable towel including its manufacture is less than the energy used by a washing machine to clean one single cotton hairdressing towel.

Scrummi is made from 100% soft and natural biodegradable wood fibres from certified sustainable sources

Our towels biodegrade in 8 weeks and are compostable

Recycled ocean plastics

Kevin Murphy are committed to reducing plastic in the best way we know how: by cleaning up our oceans and reclaiming that plastic to package our hair products. Our bottles are made from recycled ocean plastics in an effort to create a circular supply chain. In doing so, Kevin Murphy will be the first ever beauty brand to implement this practice, through which we project to save over 360 tons of new plastic each year.
